I wanted to let you know that the 2nd Annual Cooking Up Dreams event was a huge success!! Not only did we raise more than $115,000 for at-risk youth served by FSA (an increase of nearly $18,000 from last year), but we made lots of new friends and spread the word about our amazing work in the community.
We couldn’t have done it without our amazing chefs, judges, event committee including co-chairs Meredith Garofalo and Marni Cooney, auction chairs Susan Manning and Jane Santos Sweeney, event coordinator Robin Sonner, volunteers – including Andrew Firestone, our rock star MC and auctioneer, Big Brothers and Sisters and their Littles dressed in chef hats and aprons, board members, staff, sponsors and guests.
I also want to thank our incredibly generous and talented vendors: Garrick Lewis with SMI Concepts for the lighting and audio visual, Barnaby Conrad with RUMOR Photo Media for the very cool photo booth and event photography, and Scott Topper for our music and announcements.

Bouts of laughter, and music from pop to jazz provided by Scott Topper Productions, filled the vast space as guests mingled in the dimly lit ballroom, and ventured from chef to chef.
A variety of mouth-watering dishes was prepared and served in front of guests’ eyes, including lamb stew, honey-glazed pork-bellies, and fresh Alaskan cod. The array of dishes provided each guest with something tantalizing to sample that curbed everyone’s taste buds.

Walk to Cure Arthritis is the Arthritis Foundation’s annual community fundraising 5K walk event. The funds raised from the 5K support our nonprofit mission and research aimed at finding a cure for arthritis, America’s leading cause of disability.
