Jessica Kuipers has been in the hospitality industry for over twenty years, fifteen of which have been in Santa Barbara. After moving to Santa Barbara from the Bay Area in 1999, she was instantly drawn to the local event scene. She has volunteered for many local non-profit organizations including the Santa Barbara International Film Festival where she sat on their Volunteer Advisory Committee. She also assisted in numerous fundraisers for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and sat on their annual Black and Blue Ball Planning Committee. In addition, Jessica sat on the board of the Santa Barbara Young Professionals Club as Membership Director as well as one of their Special Events Coordinators. Currently, Jessica sits on the International Special Events Society Board for the Ventura/Santa Barbara Chapter as their VP of Communications. Due to her experience with this range of local events and her resultant networking with her community, Jessica has had the opportunity to work with many local vendors and clients. After two years as the Lead Banquet Captain for Fess Parker’s Doubletree Resort, Jessica found a way to have more of a personal connection with clients by assisting local wedding coordinators with their wedding planning companies. In 2005, Jessica ventured out on her own and founded Bijoux Events. Since then, she has quickly grown to be one of the top, sought after wedding coordinators in Santa Barbara County. A wife. Mother of two. Laughs with her mouth wide open and her head way back. She loves antique shopping and is obsessed with HGTV shows, and with no shame, reality shows; specifically, any of the Real Housewives shows. If she could live anywhere, it would be in a Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware catalog. She owns cowboy boots {her nickname is “Boots”} and leopard print pumps. She will eat her weight in cheese, sushi, and Indian Food. She carries a bottle of Tabasco in her car and she loves to drive fast. She is high energy and hard working. She talks too fast and truly believes that she was meant to be the third Gilmore Girl. Jessica inhales what life has to offer, good or bad, and she is not afraid to voice her opinion!

Bijoux Events is a full service wedding planning company based in Santa Barbara, California, however, we travel near and far to create memories through our events. We produce small intimate gatherings, large-scale events, and anywhere in between. We understand that not only does an event’s success lie in the planning, but that the memory lies in the attention to detail and the personal relationship built with the client. We enjoy creating unique guest experiences by pulling ideas and creative visions from our clients themselves; their interests, hobbies, funny quirks, whatever allows the event to truly reflect them as individuals as well as a couple. No cookie-cut planning here! We are known for our energy, ability to make things happen, professionalism, hard work, and demand for great service. We constantly monitor and interact with all local special events to broaden our knowledge of great event production while implementing aspects of current trends but still weaving in those personal details to make every event an original one.

Angie Chaves plays an important role at Rincon Events, as the Zoo Catering Services Wedding Coordinator at the Beautiful Santa Barbara Zoo. Angie is a Santa Barbara native and attended a local high school where she played Softball and was on Varsity Cheer as Team Captain (GO ROYALS!). Following High School she attended Santa Barbara City College; where she completed three associate degrees; Marketing, Small Business, and Liberal Arts. During College she returned to her alma mater to coach all three cheer squads. Even though she enjoyed coaching and the camaraderie of the team, she had always wanted to be a wedding coordinator. She was eager to get her feet wet and so she wasted no time. After graduation she immediately started working with Rincon Events fulfilling her “Dream Job”. 9 years later she still loves planning weddings while getting to know her brides and grooms on a personal level and really understanding their vision and bringing their ideas to life. “Nothing can replace the feeling of going through the entire planning process with my couples and seeing them off at the end of the night with hugs and HUGE thank yous instantly making a lifetime friendship and bond with them. It makes all of the hard work and time put into their event, more than worth it.” When Angie is not working hard making clients wedding dreams and ideas come to light, she is spending time with her friends, family and her sweet French Bulldog Miss Mollie Monroe.
